Economical and      Ecological

Repair Cafe helps save money and keeps more waste from ending up in landfills.  One small step in moving away from a disposable society.

Build Community and Friendships

Meet friendly volunteers who will help you repair your broken things. You can have a cup of coffee and a snack while you're working, or just hang out after your repairs are complete.

Educational and Fun

You make the repair yourself with the help of an expert.  You can gain confidence in making your own repairs in the future.  We even have a reference table that may give you ideas for DIY repairs you can try.

Don't Toss It - Fix It

Repair Cafés are free meeting places that are all about repairing things (together). At the Repair Cafe, you’ll find tools and materials to help you make any repairs you need. You can repair furniture, electrical appliances, bicycles, toys, etc. There are even sewing machines to mend clothing.  You'll also find expert volunteers, with repair skills in all kinds of fields. Visitors bring their broken items from home, and in the Repair Café, they start making their repairs, together with the specialists. It’s an ongoing learning process. If you have nothing to repair, you can hang out and enjoy a cup of coffee and a snack, or you can lend a hand with someone else’s repair job. You can also get inspired at the reading table – by leafing through books on DIY repairs.
